You know that feeling when you suddenly really want to do something. Inspired from the previous collection of retro posters.I had this sudden urge to do my own version and since today’s date is 9/11 I had this vision in my head of something. So here it is. I can’t help but think i might have seen something similar to this before…? if so then oh well. =)

I’m a big fan of minimalist design, these are Awesome collection of minimalist poster designs from the Star Wars Galaxy( don’t really know anything about Star wars) but love! the simplicity of the design and complexity of meaning.

It has been up for awhile but i’ve been busy sorting things until everything is all done and the way I want it to be before officially announcing it! So here it is Woo!

The whole design layout was inspired from the 960 grid system based on a 12 column grid. Which you can find out more on the link provided.

What do you think?

The issue of unpaid internships has been on my mind recently and it was funny that I just happened to bump into this article. So having recently finish uni, graduating next month or so and in desperate need to look for a job/placement. Lots of us are having financial difficulties aka Broke! It is expected of graphic design graduates to gain at least a minimum of 1 year experience in the industry before even having the chance to be taken seriously and lucky enough to even get paid.

The thing that bugged me is why can’t we get paid for doing free work? even if its minimum wage. Yes, people are willingly volunteering themselves to work for free but I know most of us would be happier if we did get paid for at least something. I know that we can gain invaluable experience from these places but I like to think that our education and degree is worth something after all these years to do something that I have studied for in the past 4 years

So looking from a business owner perspective, a lot of companies cover travel expenses but is that enough? Ok you might not want to lose any profits or don’t think we’re exactly qualified for the job, but I’m sure there was a reason why you chose us for the placement, there must have been something that you saw in us that you think we could help your company. I hate to admit being quite broke at the moment and if I had a placement right now, all I can do in my life is really just go to work and stay home, because I don’t have enough money even to go out. Ok yes, you might not need money to hang out with your friends but it really sucks that you can’t go out at least once a week, or buy a new top, go out have a meal. It’ annoying having constant worries about money problems early stage in life and it doesn’t help students’ with student loans are in debt immediately after graduating.

So what I’m trying to say is just pay us! But seriously would be nice if companies just did that, it would make life a lot better for everyone.

100 Minutes of Foreplay – ISTD Brief

The original brief was to explore the concept of 100 and it’s significance.A small booklet, showing the importance of 100 minutes of foreplay, in the mating process to successfully seduce female Redback spiders(this is a true fact). I was honoured to have the chance to exhibit this at the D&AD New Blood 2010.

A witty, humorous, small book with complicated string patterns to go along with the theme of spiders. This book I can honestly say was a pain in the ass to make, I’ve never had so much stress, holes in my fingers and lost so much blood from threading and sewing to make this book. Literally a lot of blood swear and tears was put in to this, I said to myself I would never make this book again(Unless someone offers me a lot of money then I ‘might’ consider it…)
